The Tesla board stated, “It is mandatory to retain and motivate our exceptional talents starting with Elon,” and added: “No one can be compared to Elon’s extraordinary combination of leadership experience and technical expertise.”

The company emphasized that the billionaire has a “proven track record” of creating “revolutionary and lucrative businesses.”
